WHY ZURICH AIRPORT
Zürich Airport (ZRH), also referred to as Kloten Airport, is the largest international airport of Switzerland. It is also the main hub of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), which is a member of the Star Alliance group. The airport is located 13 kilometers (8 miles) north of the Zürich City Center, which is connected to the airport by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). Terminal A handles entirely flights to and from destinations of the Schengen-Area. Terminal B manages both Schengen and non-Schengen flights at the same gates. Hence each gate owns two numbers, one prefixed „B“ and the other „D“. Terminal E is dedicated to non-Schengen flights. It is a so called a satelite terminal, because it is connected to the Airside Center by a small metro. This great infrastracture enables the airport to handle approx. 26 mio. passengers a year.

From Zürich/Kloten airport to Gstaad, it takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes (210km). After being picked up by our driver at the airport your fantastic journey to Gstaad starts. There is just one obstacle in your way, it’s the Guberist Tunnel. No matter what the time is, you will always get stuck into traffic on this part of your journey. Therefore it is very important that you communicated your plans and flight times in advance in order for our driver to be appropriately informed and prepared. After some kilometers on the Swiss Autobahn (motorway) you arrive at the fancy Mövenpick petrol station. There you can buy some last-minute presents as well as enjoy some decent food. What an convenient little stop! One hour later you will pass Bern, the capital of Switzerland. It’s old town forms part of the UNESCO world heritage. The old town is full with restaurants, stores and delightful sights. The pedestrian area is definitely worth a walk. Next up is the city of Thun, from which you will have an exceptional view on the Swiss Alps. The view includes the famous Jungfrau Joch, the dangerous Eiger-Nordwand and other surrounding peaks. At this point we will exit the highway and proceed driving through the Simmental valley. Reaching Zweisimmen, you almost made it. Approximately 20 minutes later you will reach Saanenmöser, the first village of our home, the Saanenland. Then Schönried comes, followed by Saanen and finally Gstaad.
Once you arrive at your destination, the driver will assist you with the luggage. He will offer you to take you back when every you plan to go. Just leave him the details or let him know that you will send it by mail. The driver typically checks the car if something is forgotten. Else he will leave you a Gstaad Limousine Service business card as well as the card of Taxi Simon Gstaad, our local taxi service division.
